Photograph of the coast of Morocco from Mercury-Atlas 4 (MA-4). Mercury-Atlas 4 was an unmanned spacecraft which was the first Project Mercury flight to orbit the Earth. The view, seen through one of the spacecraft’s two circular portholes, extends from Tan-Tan Province, Southwestern of Morocco. On the top left edge, you can see the Strait of Gibraltar on the horizon near the center of the photo. The Atlantic Ocean appears in the top left, and solid cloud cover hangs close to the coast near Tan-Tan.
