Wave

In the photos of waves by Manolo CHRÉTIEN the sky and the sea coexist. It is the interaction between them and the light that gives them the color blue. The air molecules have specific sizes, they mainly allow the broadcast of light shorter wavelengths: violet, blue and indigo. Like the sky, the water broadcast light, the deeper the water is, the more are blocked the higher wavelengths, only the shorter stay: the blue ones. With the photographs of the “Wave” series Manolo CHRÉTIEN plays also with the shapes of the waves. He focus on catching what he calls Liquid Anemomorphoses: the wind and the speed carve the waves, giving them that characteristic curvature.
