Nose

The series of plane noses by Manolo CHRÉTIEN play with the perspective. The noses appear flattened, it gives the impression of facing giant masks whose cockpits would shape the eyes. The use of “nose” word itself, nurtures the viewer in this interpretation. Some of these noses, like the Tomcat, develop a very Pop aspect. We can easily imagine them coming directly from some comic books or cartoons. Besides the anthropomorphic dimension, Manolo CHRÉTIEN also stress the extern forces which applied on the aircraft. The fuselage of the plane is compressed by the point of view, its streamlined body become massive. The strength of the air resistance is then obvious.
