New York Dream

With these series of photos, Kyriakos KAZIRAS has wanted to catch the spirit of New York City. These images feel like timeless moments, where only small details: smartphones, advertising posters, allow us to figure out the date of the photography. Never staged, the street-photos were taken with a compact camera. Thanks to that, Kyriakos KAZIRAS is freer and can take quick snapshot of the urban life. By doing so, he engages his pictures in a dialogue with famous past photographers like Edward STEICHEN or Alfred STIEGLITZ. We observe that across iconic subjects such as the Flatiron Building, which KAZIRAS reinterprets. The bustle of city life become a theme, as we can see in his photo Ghost of Time.
