A picturesque voyage through Brazil (Viagem Pitoresca pelo Brasil) is a series of photographs made between 2015 and 2019 by Cássio Vasconcellos. The luxuriance of the Amazon Rainforest is explored on foot, through games of colors and a work of interlacing plant motifs. Cássio Vasconcellos articulates the themes of exploration and travel that are dear to him, putting them in relation with pictorial tributes. Thus, it takes us in a vision of a Brazil where the abundant nature recalls the paintings and sketches made during the eighteenth and nineteenth century expeditions. We find the wonder of Charles de Clarac (1777-1847) and others, in front of the majesty of a virgin forest, wild and mysterious.
