Jerry UELSMANN
Jerry UELSMANN (1934-) is one of the masters of the gelatin silver-print photomontage. He completely revolutionized the practice in laboratory, contradicting the established belief of the moment about photography, thought as based on shooting. Jerry UELSMANN extensive work on image processing appear natural nowadays, in the light of the changes brought by digital technologies. His virtuosity and his imagination allowed him to push the limits of the gelatin silver-process, so much that his photomontages have nothing to envy to those realized with computers. Jerry UELSMANN dreamlike work is now in the collections of the greatest museums around the world.
