Poppy

The poppy or “annual poppy” is a bright red flower with a lifecycle spanning one year. This plant consists of a hairy, erect stem. At its head are very thin and solitary petals. This flower is considered a medicinal plant for its sedative and relaxing properties. It is usually planted in the spring. While it was once associated with crops in the fields, today it is driven out. Photographing it at the start of a state of decomposition is therefore a commitment on the part of the artist.
