Matthias OLMETA
Matthias OLMETA was born in Marseille (France) in 1968. At the age of 16, he has been fond of photography, the next year he decided to study it. In order to do so, Matthias OLMETA went to Los Angeles and studied visual arts at Santa Monica City College, from which he graduated in 1991. During his American stay of seven years, he traveled a lot, especially to Mexico. These first getaways put the bases of a more general approach of search for other one and somewhere else. Back in France, he has carried on travelling. Matthias OLMETA photographs misfits: prostitutes in Athens or psychiatric patients in Havana, of which he succeeded in being accepted. 2006, new path, Matthias OLMETA has worked on his fears.
